Skating on the Canal yesterday was excellent. Skating on the Canal today was...not so excellent. Milder conditions made the skateway holey, and thus, it was very difficult to navigate without skating at a snail's pace (a snail on skates, hmm), windmilling arms, and the occasional, "ouf!"
Tonight, I am trying to get rid of a cold that somehow developed overnight. Back to the grind demain. But this weekend was wonderful. A party on Friday night where I got to see some folks I haven't seen in a while, a wonderful day with my boy as we celebrated a year together*
Music I am currently digging:
Imogen Heap.
*went to see the Christopher Pratt exhibit at The National Gallery. I love his work. Not all of it, as most of it is stark and somewhat depressing, really. But there is something about the way he recreates building and houses that leave you feeling as though you are standing there, looking at what he is looking at, just drinking in the stillness, and the solitary nature of the building that leaves you feeling peaceful and unsettled, all at once.
We then got take-out from So Good. Yummy. Love that restaurant. Capped off a wonderful day.

Happy New Year!
I'm excited to report that the World’s Largest Naturally Frozen Ice Rink as designated by the Guiness Book of World Records is officially opening tomorrow.
This is excellent news as I have been looking forward to skating for another season. This weekend one year ago is of particular significance to me. Skating on the Canal precipitated a year full of love, laughter and a lot of fun. Not to mention it's great for knocking those extra Christmas pounds off your butt (but the extra layer is good for cushion when I fall down and go ouf!).
See ya on the Canal!
