Weekend recap

Ah, sun. I love the sun. I love the heat. I don't love getting a prickly heat rash that makes me itch all the time, but hey, what can you do? Something has to give, right?

Friday night, after surviving three days of the new job, I went home via the LCBO and bought myself some Triple Sec, and vodka. Martini city, here we come! Made Moroccan spaghetti for supper, pigged out, made some cosmos, and KT and Megatron came over and we drank some more. The weather has been so great all weekend, finally. P came over with some Blue Curacao and we got even drunker! The girls seemed to get a kick out of P, I hope. I want my friends to like him. Really, what's not to like. He's an awesome guy. Oy, I'm gushing again.

Saturday I was very lazy, then I went to Art in the Park. Loved this guy's work: http://www.andrewkingstudio.com/. Wish I could afford an original painting. Bought a pretty glass necklace instead. It's from the same guy I got my black and white one from. It's pretty green and blue and purple. Got compliments on it when I went to P's friend's birthday bash. Outside for drinks (I refrained, as I was very hungover), listened to the boys play guitar, and watched some of the gang play croquet. Yup, you heard me. I just go with it.

Today had and awesome afternoon: P and I went for a drive to Pakenham for ice cream (maple walnut and cookies'n'cream) then to Mexicali's for supper. We stopped by the bridge in Pakenham and talked and talked. All in all a great time.

Came home, talked to a woman I've been friends with for 20 years. 20 years. And I'm only 26. Pretty crazy and cool all at once. Things are great with her, and it's good to catch up. I'm so jealous that she's going to Dublin to see U2 (only my favouritist band, ever!!!) Ah well, there's still hope I'll get tickets, somehow.

Good night. I'm a 9-5 working girl now. I hope the thunderstorm comes tonight to cool things off, and so the sun can shine again tomorrow.

New job

I started working a new job on Wednesday of this week. The paperwork went through finally, and on Tuesday afternoon around 5:15 I got a call that I would be starting the next day at 9. Nothing like giving me notice! Obviously, I was very nervous for the first few days but I did manage to survive them. Amy got a new job too, through the same temp agency, and she started on Tuesday. She was nervous too, and concerned about what she was going to wear, etc. I wasn't too concerned about that. I know I always look well-dressed when I work in an office environment, but I can't think too hard about what I'm going to wear because I only own a few things that are suitable. Money has been pretty tight over the last few years for my clothing budget, and since I was only working in retail, last summer my clothing budget went toward new t-shirts and more casual summer items. I *heart* Jacob Connection! When I start having a little bit extra I have to visit and get some new things. Oh, who am I kidding? I'll probably be there this weekend, money or no.

Another friend who has recently started working in goverment has offered me the loan of any of her suits if I need to, but the environment isn't that dressy. Someday, I'm sure I'll find a suit that fits perfectly that I can afford. Until then, I stick with my meagre wardrobe, adding pieces to it here and there. What I need most is a nice pair of black sandals. But they will set me back at least $100, which I don't really have, as anything I do have is owed to EVERYBODY!
